Retrieval Practice Pyramids: Macbeth, AIC & ACC Matt Lynch

Take retrieval practice beyond simple textual recall. Inspired by a template shared on Twitter by @KateJones_teach, and used with permission, I have designed a thematic approach to retrieval practice, beginning with simple textual recall, moving up through characters and character motivation, then to retrieval of ideas related to the theme across the text, synthesising the recall to be able to answer the higher-order, open-ended or evaluative question at the top of the pyrmaid. The students should answer ALL Qs, starting at the bottom layer and working up to the top of the pyramid. Attached are examples for Macbeth, An Inspector Calls and also A Christmas Carol.
