Introduction to Poetry

Description

A lesson introducing poetry to Year 7 students, but could be used for older years. Looks at defining what poetry is, then get through a range of examples where you discuss is the text a poem or not (spoilers: they all are). Some poem examples inspired by @jamestheo blog. Introduces some students to the differences between poetry and prose, some key poetic vocabulary and then goes back to defining what poetry is.
