A look at how equivocation was inextricably linked with the Gunpowder plot when Shakespeare was writing Macbeth and when it was first performed to a Jacobean audience based on ideas from James Shapiro's The Year of Lear.  Looks at Macbeth, The Witches and others as equivocators and what that signposts and the effect it has.
