Lesson focusing on the epilogue of The Handmaid's Tale. Gets students to consider the purpose of The Historical Notes. Cut out the different interpretations and get students to match to the correct quote - debate the function/ how critics have viewed the ending/ how the students' view the ending as readers. Students plan and feedback on essay questions they look at in groups (split group into 3) considering thesis/ anti-thesis ideas.
