A 5 lesson series using two non-fiction texts to enrich students' understanding of "Checking Out Me History".  The document includes links to two texts about the history of the British Army's West India Regiment - "Slaves in Red Coats" (National Army Museum website article) and "Black Troops", a 19th article by Surgeon William Fergusson describing the West India Regiment for the United Service Journal.
